NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. The Stick It On host will be at your side to guide you through the simple process to DJ superstardom!
You can DJ on your own or, if you need a bit of additional courage, find a DJ partner and form a DJ team.

You just need to choose some songs that will rock the dancefloor, click the link below, fill the online form and we'll contact you back with more details.

Musically anything goes.. Pop to Hip Hop, Dance to Disco,
Soul to Rock'n'Roll. This is DJ democracy . . .

Welcome to Stick It On!!

Applications need to be submitted by Friday 20th November 2015.

http://www.stickiton.org.uk/events/riseuk/index.php

RISE, the leading violence and abuse service for Sussex is coordinating a range of events to shine a light on the issues of violence against women and girls.

There’s no night like a Stick It On night. It is a fundraiser for RISE so we recommend a donation of £5. Pay more, or less, just join us for a fab night out.

For those who haven't been to Stick It On before, here's a quick run down on what it's all about.... The idea came about as a result of being fed up with the same old Club Nights playing the same old music week after predictable week..

Let's face it.. some club nights are so far up their own arse, they're missing the point of why we all started clubbing in the first place. Stick It On aims to give you something different. There are no resident DJ's. Definitely no so called 'Super DJ's' and the music is provided by YOU - if you want to.

The night is split into 15 minute slots for each person Stickin' It On. If you fancy giving it a go, all you have to do is choose the records that you would play before going out for the night of a lifetime. Mixing is actively discouraged. It's just a chance your you to put some sun in peoples hearts, rock the dancefloor, shake what your mama gave ya and enjoy yourself.

RISE UK #16Days of Action - Living Library

Life doesn't always go according to plan and any one of us can find our lives affected by domestic abuse. Volunteer Living Books will make themselves available to be ‘borrowed’ by members of the public for open conversation about their lives and experiences.

What is the RISE Living Library?

The RISE Living Library started in 2010. Developed to promote dialogue, reduce prejudice and encourage understanding about domestic abuse the simple format creates an opportunity to speak to survivors and those who work to support people affected by domestic abuse.

Living Books include survivors, refuge workers, the police and others speaking one on one with interested members of the community. Each ‘reading’ lasts up to 15 minutes.

RISE Living Library has been described by readers as ‘beautiful, inspirational and moving’.

I was just passing and didn't have the time to build up expectations. It didn't matter. It is so inspirational and beautiful. I feel grateful people wanted to share their experiences.”

Great to really put the person into the story. I really loved it!

RISE UK #16Days of Action - Bucket Shake

25th November is the UN International Day to End Violence Against Women and Girls.

RISE will be collecting pennies and pounds all day at Asda in Brighton Marina.

A Bucket Shake not only raises money but is also vital in letting survivors of abuse and violence know where to come for help. For some, the supermarket may be the one place they are ‘allowed’ to go by themselves.

The Bucket Shake is only possible with the help of willing volunteers. Shifts are flexible so if you would like to take part please contact us.

If you would like to host a collecting box at your work or local community venue for the 16 Days contact fundraising@riseuk.org.uk
