#DailyBrickLimit July 2021
Over on Instagram I have been taking part in the #dailybricklimit challenge, and here are my photos for July
The challenge is building something LEGO related using the number of parts associated with that day, i.e. 5 pieces for the 5th, 12 pieces for the 12th.
This is a great challenge and I have already have ideas what I might do next month
Day 1
I started off sharing a photo of this glass LEGO Minifigure I have got from Hannah Gibson Glass
Day 2
Showing off two custom LEGO Bricks I got this year, Dino Dudes was from Crazy Bricks kickstarter I got earlier this year, and Bricks at Home showbrick was for delivering a wellbeing online workshop at their online LEGO festival earlier this year.
Day 3
One of my little one favourite superheroes, 3 parts are head, body and legs
Day 4
The red monochrome minifigure from the recent Everything is Awesome set
Day 5
For this day I took a still off this video of Spongebob holding an icecream taking a dip
Day 6
Of my favourite bricks is the 2x4 brick. I love how they are 915,103,765 combinations you can build using 6 2x4 bricks.
Day 7
Batman singing!!!!
Day 8
A Unikitty cat which was built in one of my kids workshops a few years ago, I still keep it as it is a great example how you can build something using only a few parts
Day 9
A piece of my PAC MAN Ghost puzzle
Day 10
Our first LEGO Coffee morning since the pandemic and here are 10 bricks from the TIE FIghter Pilot Helmet I was building at Cafe Rust in Hove
Day 11
One of the LEGO Vidiyo minifigures with the tiles they come with. I am still hunting for the ice cream character, and problem with the cardboard boxes is you can’t feel for them.
Day 12
Two packs of my Re-Focus Bricks which I gave out at my first LEGO wellbeing workshop since the start of the pandemic on the 13th July
Day 13
A mosaic, one one of the activities we had during my wellbeing workshop
Day 14
I asked my little one to pick a LEGO character for me to photograph, and he went for Alfred.
Day 15
Decided to do a mash up, of what would happen if Marvel characters were cast in a Toy Story reboot
Day 16
Two bricks from my matching pair games, which I created a few years ago and I have used at many events and workshops. All ages want to test their memory
Day 17
Another mashup, this time Disney characters invaded the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Day 18
A mosaic I created using LEGO dots parts
Day 19
Another selection from my little one, he loves the 60s Batman series (so do I), and he wanted to knock over these figures
Day 20
We all have a spare parts tub, and here are 19 parts from the tub, and one plate
Day 21
Start of an mosaic I am doing for another challenge, one way up it is flowers and the other way up, it is jellyfish / pac man ghosts.
Day 22
21 of my son’s Duplo figures, 22 parts as Superman wears a cape
Day 23
Again using Duplo, I decided to play around with slow motion and reverse play. On Instagram, the video came with Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now as a backing track
Day 24
I love mosaics, and decided to make Sidney the Snake
Day 25
Using the dice which came in LEGO games, i am developing a game, which can help kids with colour recognition.
Day 26
For me building LEGO Pyramids is very mindful
Day 27
I have been using this challenge as an excuse to experiment, and try new things, even if they don’t work. Here is a pixel version of the Jaws Movie poster just using 1x1 (one 1x2 brick to make the brick limit!)
Day 28
A random collection of minifigure parts including the base of a car
Day 29
The Joker is trying to decide what face to wear today
Day 30
I love doing marble mazes in my LEGO workshops, both kids and adults love them. I built a small one for this challenge and got my three year old to play with it.
Day 31
I love DUPLO!. I wanted to show off some of the very cool printed bricks they have made.
