Cat Food is a small batch bakery based in South East London. After years of baking and reading blogs about starting a cake businesses, we bit the bullet and opened a Prince themed cake pop up at our friend's cafe in Dalston! We started small with an ancient inherited kenwood mixer and a lot of tiny fondant crying doves on vanilla cupcakes...!

A couple of pop ups later and we've been baking all kinds of sweet treats (in our much newer Kenwood mixers!) for our market stalls and independent cafes all over town for almost 2 years. We've kept our production relatively small, with a focus on using ingredients that we consider to be the best for our products: Organic milk, belgian chocolate, and Shipton Mill's flour. Our best selling items are our Bourbon Spiked Salted Caramel Brownies and our massive Red Velvet Showstopper Cakes, as well as having an amazing reputation for our Vegan cakes.

We currently have 10 regular wholesale customers - including our biggest fans Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium and The Old Nun's Head - and bake bespoke cakes for Birthdays & Celebrations all year round! We're aiming to reach another 5 wholesale customers and launch a brand new website by the end of the year.

Having moved kitchens 3 times in 2015, we need to move in to a permanent space of our own. We've found a property in Brockley which is absolutely PERFECT! Our vision is to use the space for our production baking during the week, as well as offering a few classes on baking, cooking and business. On weekends we'd like to be open to the public, allowing everybody to pop in for a coffee & a big slice of cake with us.

The space is completely empty right now and needs a little bit of refurbishment. We need to install suitable flooring, plumbing in our sink & dishwasher, as well as some furnishings such as workbenches and shelving.  We've managed to secure the property and invest in some equipment, but need a £2000 boost to complete our project by May 2016.

Rewards include lots of treats by Cat - tote bags, mugs, your chance to receive 1-on-1 lessons from Cat, not to mention some big cakey deliveries anywhere in London! We'd also love to thank our best friends at Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium & The Old Nun's Head for offering very generous rewards to our cause <3

Any help will be greatly appreciated, overwhelming in fact! We'll be pleased to answer any questions you have about our project on catfoodlondon@gmail.com or through social media:
