Brighton's Graphic War - A WWI graphic novel Crowdfunding Appeal
Crowdfunding campaign looking for £2750 to be raised by Thur 28th April 2016
Brighton’s Graphic War is a full colour, World War One-themed graphic novel, featuring the people and history of Brighton & Hove. The project is being run by QueenSpark Books, the longest running community publisher in the UK.
All of QueenSpark's books feature the lesser-heard voices and stories of the City, and Brighton's Graphic War is no exception. Industry professionals Tim Pilcher and Paul Collicutt – who led on QueenSpark's previous Brighton – The Graphic Novel - have mentored 15 new talented young writers and artists from the city to create Brighton’s Graphic War.
The result: eight illustrated fictionalised narratives that include actual events, characters, photographs and mementoes from the era. The book illustrates the huge social and military changes that took place from 1900 to 1920, and details how the first modern war of the 20th Century impacted upon the people of a then-small Sussex town.
