Boho Gelato's Fundraising Flavour Supporting Brighton's Big Read for Children
BOHO GELATO’S FUNDRAISING FLAVOUR SUPPORTING BRIGHTON’S BIG READ FOR CHILDREN
We are so delighted that Brighton artisan ice cream parlour Boho Gelato will be creating a fantastic fizzing new flavour in honour of this year’s Young City Reads book Fizzlebert Stump, The Boy Who Ran Away From The Circus (and joined the library) by A.F Harrold.
Boho Gelato are well known for their work within the community and all proceeds from sales of this specially created gelato will be used to support Young City Reads’ work with schools in areas of Brighton & Hove that are most in need. This ‘fundraising flavour’ will pay for books, workshops and more.
The award-winning company’s owner Seb Cole has created a fabulously fizzy lemon and blueberry sherbert that’ll get your tastebuds in a frenzy. Produced fresh on site using locally produced milk & cream, his Gelato and Sorbet is of the highest of quality and the tastiest this side of Italy!
This year we took to Twitter and Facebook to ask you guys to name the flavour, and we can reveal that @flabulousblogger takes the trophy with his magnificent....
Fizz Bang Wallop (what an ice cream!) will be available from the 2nd March (World Book Day) when Young City Reads 2017 launches across the city.
Last year the company raised nearly £800 with their Caramel Carbunkle (AKA the Brighton Chomp!) created for the 2016 title Hamish and the Worldstoppers by Danny Wallace and this year they’re hoping for the same success, so get down to Boho Gelato, 6 Pool Valley, Brighton, BN1 1NJ for a scoop (or two!)

ABOUT Young City Reads
Brainchild of Brighton based award winning literary organisation Collected Works CIC, Young City Reads (Brighton & Hove’s ‘big read’ for children) was established in 2013, when broadcaster and former children’s laureate Michael Rosen (that year’s Guest Director of Brighton Festival) agreed to champion the project. Michael Rosen has praised the scheme for ‘inventiveness and simplicity’ in its approach to encouraging children and young people to read for pleasure.
